Memphis in May is just plain fun.  It’s really everything we hoped it would be – the best thing has been making new friends, and getting to reconnect with folks on the BBQ circuit.  We had a great day here in Memphis – we entered the Memphis in May BBQ Cooking Contest People’s Choice Contest.  You turn in one on Thursday and Friday for folks to judge – we smoked ours with our Pork Barrel BBQ All American Spice Rub for 10 hours on our Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker – it turned out great.  Heath was also busy in the kitchen creating two new Pork Barrel BBQ sauces for the Pork Barrel BBQ Restaurant in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria – a vinegar BBQ sauce and mustard based BBQ sauce.  Here is Pork Barrel BBQ founder Heath Hall at work:

We are so grateful to Wagshals and Bill, Brian and Aaron Fuchs for sponsoring the Pork Barrel BBQ competition team – be sure to go by and visit today – you MUST try their Iberico pork – it’s the greatest pork you will ever eat.  Here we are getting our first try of Iberico with Bill, Brian and Aaron Fuchs:Wagshals
